After years spent testing and developing in the wind tunnel and on the open road (and the subsequent launch of our wheelset), HUNT is proud to introduce the 34 Aero Wide Disc - the world's fastest alloy disc-brake wheelset.
Wind tunnel proven against world leading wheels. See the for full technical details of our wind tunnel testing methodology, including data/graphs and the full range of wheels we tested against.
Designed by HUNT's in-house engineering team.
Everything we learned when pushing what is aerodynamically possible with a carbon disc-brake wheelset, has been applied to an alloy model that embodies the same philosophy: be the absolute fastest drop-bar wheelset.
ALLOY? IN A WIND TUNNEL?
Until now, aerodynamic development has lagged behind on alloy wheelsets. So much so, that after having invested our time and knowledge into the 34 Aero Wide Disc, it is faster than a (carbon) Zipp 202 NSW when paired with a 28c tire. The assumption that carbon is inherently faster is untrue, and now tangible aerodynamic performance has been made accessible for all.
WIDER TIRES & WIDER WHEELS | RIDE FASTER
Leading rim-brake wheels have been at the 27-28mm wide mark for some time, with undisputed aero benefits over narrower designs. However, they are aerodynamically limited by rim brake calipers limiting the maximum width of the brake track. Further, most are optimised for narrower tires. 23mm tires used to be the standard… but for us, you and most pro riders, 25/28 and even 30mm tires are the preferred choice. Let’s face it: when leaning in on the final turn of a mass bunch sprint or descending sweeping alpine bends, you want serious grip! Plus, the lower rolling resistance benefits of 25 and 28mm tires* mean that road disc aero wheels should be specifically designed around these wider tires. Accordingly, this wheelset has been designed using schematics and feedback from Schwalbe's own engineers.
(*Especially rider-system benefits, wheel & tire only tests do not include rider damped losses, and how lower pressures reduce these losses by reducing rider movement. This is a whole other area we will be releasing scientific data on.)
THE RESULTS…
The wind tunnel data we recorded is shown against the full range of incumbent world-class aero wheels in the charts below. The results speak for themselves. It’s been hard work but it’s been very worthwhile. This process and the knowledge gained from pushing the boundaries of aero wheel development creates huge opportunities to serve you with a wide range of world leading aerodynamic wheels…this is just the beginning! Thank you.

Please note: If you require a 6 bolt adaptor you can purchase separately here
A full 3 years from purchase date warranty is offered to the original purchaser only on all Hunt bike wheels against material or workmanship defects, please click here to read full details.
All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 253lbs (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 233lbs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires at max 90psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
60 Day Ride & Return Period. We are certain you'll be impressed by the acceleration, low-weight, speed and durability of our wheels. We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.
We can supply tubeless tires (including sealant) with your wheels which are also designed to work excellently with clincher tires and tubes.
Maximum tire pressure for this rim is 100psi when used with 25-28mm tires. 100 psi is more than enough for any rider on road. Click here to listen to a podcast exploring the science of why lower pressures were found to be faster by pro teams. Maximum tire pressures for other tire sizes: 30mm - 32mm do not exceed 70psi, 33mm do not exceed 50psi, 35-45mm do not exceed 45psi, 45-50mm do not exceed 40psi. Please do not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tire.

![]() | Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless Tires - 25,28 or 30mmThe Schwalbe Tubeless road tires consistently win plaudits from journalists and customers alike. We have been testing them for a long time and have been very impressed. The One Pro's are Schwalbe's top of the range tires and feature their triple compound tread so you get extremely low rolling-resistance combined with excellent grip and durability. |
![]() | Schwalbe G One Speed Tubeless Tires - 30mmUnleashing profile and breathtakingly fast - especially when large volume counts. As a 30mm wide road race version with V-Guard, G-One Speed is a tire for the real tough jobs. You can ride it as a handmade tubular or with the most modern tubeless easy technology. But it is also a guarantee for maximum speed in the extra-wide 60mm execution - of course, not only at the fascinating beach races on Holland’s coasts. The new G-One Speed is an evolution of the former S-One and Big One. |
