Featuring a new ratchet hub system, the HUNT 50 Carbon Disc was built for speed and versatility, ready to upgrade your ride for any crit, road or gravel race out the box. To capitalize on the benefits of a modern disc brake equipped bike, you need a wheelset that delivers proven aero benefits, wide tubeless tire compatibility, quick acceleration, and rapid hub engagement.
The 50mm deep U-shape carbon rim profile offers measurable aero benefits across a wide range of wind yaw angles, while the 22mm-wide internal rim bed opens out your tire profile to provide exceptional vibration reduction, improved cornering traction and low rolling-resistance. Proven in wind tunnel, the 50 Carbon Disc offers an 8 watt aerodynamic advantage using MWAD compared to a standard, 25mm-deep alloy wheelset, and gives up only 4 watts compared to the fastest wheels in the segment, such as our SUB50 Limitless Aero Disc and ENVE 4.5 SES, when tested with 28mm tires. Optimized for 25-35mm tires (ETRTO compatible with road and gravel tires ranging from 25mm to 55mm) to keep you at the front of the group, whether on a closed criterium course or a scenic gravel loop.
The HUNT team have paired the wide hooked rim with new H_Ratchet 36T SGL hubs, offering a rapid 10-degree engagement angle, in a reliable, easy-to-service and long-lasting single-sided ratchet drive system. Increased engagement surface area improves power transfer and longevity of the hubs, while using less material compared to a spring-and-pawl system, resulting in a light but robust hub system designed and tested to cope with the increased torque of 1x drivetrains. Hand-built with top-of-the-range Pillar PSR triple butted J-bend spokes and precision sealed cartridge bearings, this wheelset is ready to help you pick up the pace.

Tires Info
- For the 50 Carbon Disc, HUNT recommends a 25-35mm tire for best performance, tire widths between 25mm and 50mm are also safe to use. You must not exceed the maximum tire pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tire manufacturer if this is lower.
- Note: best performance is usually gained by using tire pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this.
- You must not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tire.
- Suitable tubeless road, gravel and CX tires are available from a huge range of companies.
Axle Sizes
These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. While our carbon layup processes are very precise, a 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is completely normal in carbon fibre manufacturing.
All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 273lbs (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 203lbs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
60 Day Ride & Return Period. We are certain you'll be impressed by the acceleration, low-weight, speed and durability of our wheels. We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage.
