The Purpose
You asked, and we delivered! The HUNT 650B ADVENTURE CARBON DISC wheelset is designed to serve as the ultimate weapon for 650b gravel shredding. They ideally compliment the fast, fun and highly versatile adventure-focused bikes which have a 'go anywhere' attitude. Perfect for those fun trail thrashes and bike-packing adventures, whilst not compromising anything for fast-far road days.
The opportunity to open up your riding comes from bikes which have geometry designed to ride excellently with both 700c or 27.5" (650b) wheels. This combination works thanks to the extra volume in a 2" x 27.5” tire, providing an almost identical external tire diameter to a normal road sized 700c wheel with a 33mm tire, leaving the bike geo unchanged. What was needed was a bike that could accommodate the extra tire width, while still running road groupsets, geo and components. These bikes are increasing in popularity and availability continuously!
We're delighted to have designed the ultimate carbon wheels for the job. These wheels are designed to perfectly compliment gravel bikes with dual 650b/700c interchangeability. We’ve designed a specific new rim profile for our new Gravel/Adventure wheels. Key features of this rim that make it great for the focused purpose of drop-bar adventure/gravel road riding are:
Wider 30mm external/24mm internal rim provides excellent ride handling and support for wider tires, and they work perfectly with (up to) 2.2” MTB tires.
The 22mm rim delivers excellent strength needed for the lower spoke counts and higher gear torques from road groupsets when compared to MTB setups.
Asymmetric rim accommodates the front disc and rear cassette hub offsets, and helps build an even stronger and more durable wheelset owing to balanced spoke tensions.

- Tires | Extra-wide 24mm rim bed works with 30c tires (where the tire manufacturer allows their use on a rim of this width), but ideal for gravel and CX cyclo-cross tires up to 54c and MTB 27.5"(650B) tires up to 2.2". - These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. All our axle adapters are easy to swap but we'll fit the adapters your bike needs to save you the work. After your order checkout is completed a simple form will show, as well as being sent to you in your confirmation email. The form allows you to select the axle size your bike needs, don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right. All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 264lbs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 220lbs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires at max 65psi (observe tire manufacturer's max pressure as this may be lower) as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
