The Purpose
The 4 Season Gravel Disc has been a staple in our range from very early on. As a more burly version of the 4 Season Disc (owing to higher spoke count and wider rim) it was a great option for those wanting to hit the path less travelled. Fast-forward a couple of years, and the demands of gravel riding have taken on a whole new dimension, with riders seeking trails and routes you'd formerly only consider a mountain bike for. Enter the X-Wide, the wheelset designed to shine where the boundaries are blurred...
As you’d come to expect from us, we’ve invested in high-specification spokes, rims and hubsets, so you don’t pay a massive weight penalty for that extra off-road durability. Long-lasting performance both on and off-road. Don’t be restricted, grasp your freedom. The extra-wide rim is ideal for properly wide (35 to 50+) gravel tires, so you can explore, go bike-packing, rip any trails or CX courses you fancy, and do it all with confidence!

- Rims | Super-wide (29mm external, 25mm internal) 6066-T6 (+34% tensile strength vs 6061-T6) Heat treated. Disc specific. Asymmetric for balanced spoke tensions and a highly-durable wheel build. ETRTO 622x25. H-Lock bead-seat, for easy and secure tubeless installation.
- Tires | Tubeless-ready for lower weight & rolling resistance, featuring H_LOCK bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation. Also works excellently with clincher tires and tubes.
- Hubs | HUNT 4 Season Disc J-bend spoke hubs with extra bearing shielding. 10-degree FastEngage 4-pawl freehub, with H_CERAMIK coating for enhanced durability. SRAM XD and XDR Driver available. Centre-lock disc mount.

Nipples
- Brass for anti-corrosion resistance.
- Square body for external adjustment and hex head for easy internal adjustment/tensioning.

Tires Info
- Maximum tire pressure for this rim is 45psi when used with 35-45mm tires. 100 psi is more than enough for any rider on road. to listen to a podcast exploring the science of why lower pressures were found to be faster by pro teams.
- Maximum tire pressures for other tyre sizes: 30mm do not exceed 70psi, 33mm do not exceed 50psi, 45-50mm do not exceed 40psi..
- Please do not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tire.
- Best suited for tires from 35mm wide upwards.
Axle Size
- These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. All our axle adapters are easy to swap but we'll fit the adapters your bike needs to save you the work. After your order checkout is completed a simple form will show, as well as being sent to you in your confirmation email. The form allows you to select the axle size your bike needs, don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right. All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 253lbs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 220lbs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires minimum 28mm at max 100psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.

Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.
